Durham is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Durham follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Locopops is such a cozy ice cream shop with a great outdoor space and a eclectic gift shop inside. It's a great little hideaway just a stonesthrow away from Ninth Street.

After my tour at the Duke Lemur Center, it was recommended that I stop at Locopops before heading home. A free parking lot is available on the side of the business. There is a large backyard area if you are looking to stay a while and eat your treats. There are also many seating areas on the porch. When you arrive, the available flavors are on the chalkboard menu. I then told the employee at the counter what I wanted, and he even put them in a Ziploc baggie for me to take home. They made the drive okay, even though it took longer than usual, because a big truck decided to go 35mph on a 55mph road. I went with Mexican chocolate, lavender cream, watermelon, ginger limeade and orange mango. They were as delicious as I remembered. I also left with an item from the bakery. I enjoyed every bite of that, too. The Mexican-style popsicles are what Locopops is known for, but they also have ice cream. The locopops come in regular and mini sizes. They offer both dairy and non-dairy flavors. I didn't see the pints of ice cream until I was on my way out, or I would have picked one up too. In their retail area, they also have some non-food items like puzzles, games and cards. I think I saw s

Just wanted to public say: thank you for having vegan ice cream options. Not only options, but THE best vegan ice cream hands down. I hope your team will consider making the strawberry cheesecake flavor permanent. It is so good! Thank you!

Nice little store. Novelty items I was happy to see. Their Chocolate Chip Banana Pudding is delicious. Highly recommend. There is also a porch in front and on the side (they have rocking chairs) to sit and relax while you enjoy your treat. A grassy area down past the parking lot with Umbrella picnic tables. Extremely Dog Friendly. There is also a parking lot in the back. The driveway is on the left side of the house.

I ordered a couple bottles of wine (discoteca by Holiday) for pickup here because I couldn't find them local and saw them listed on their website. Online order was a breeze and once I realized it was a dessert shop with some souvenir-ish merchandise, I was excited to pick up the bottles. I swung by on Tuesday around noon and it was not very busy at all. I perused the dessert section and ended up getting a small cup of the chocolate peppermint soft serve. It was delicious and the perfect portion! The shop itself is cute, looks like it's a repurposed home and I enjoyed browsing through the merchandise. They had some interesting selections of wine and beer that I would definitely try next time.
